Hello, I needed to make a critique on your artwork to enter a mentorship program on Artists-of-Equus. I thought it would be a shame it isn't used, so here is the critique i send to them
I think you made a wonderful artwork here. The power of the horse and his temperament is captured really good with this drawing. I also love the color scheme. All the colors wonderfully blend together. It gets a bit of a old photo look that I really like. There are a couple of things that I think can be improved. Although in first glance there is anatomical nothing wrong, there are a couple bits that feel wrong. The frond legs feel to short compared to his body. If you look closely the hindlegs feel to short to but not as much as the front feet.
I also miss the connection between the hindlegs and the ground. They just stopped there. I think if you made a bit of sand being kicked up it would all connect better. There is one last thing if I am being nitpicky and that is in comparison to the horses his body, the hair looks a bit flat especially the tail. Maybe a little more contrast or painted hair strokes would improve that.
But overall a really wonderful powerful picture of a stallion that really catches your eye!
